Magnesium is the third most abundant ion found in the ocean. It is necessary for proper calcification as well as for optimal coral growth. Magnesium levels are important because it stabilizes carbonate and allows it to be present in much higher concentrations. It also prevents precipitation of calcium and alkalinity/KH.

Laboratory tested and pharmaceutical-grade Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate from SR Enterprises is ideal for raising magnesium in saltwater reef aquariums. This ammonia and phosphate free supplement dissolves easily and completely in purified water. This 8.8 lb package makes approximately 4 gallon of high quality supplement.

Recommended Dosage: Recommended magnesium levels are between 1,250 and 1,350 ppm. Dose as required. For best results, slow-drip Magnesium Chloride Hexahydrate into your aquarium's sump.
