The Salifert Nitrite Test Kit measures the extremely hazardous nitrite levels that build up in aquariums due an interference in the nitrogen cycle. Nitrites are typically converted into nitrates and removed throughout the nitrogen cycle, but when the cycle cannot be completed, these nitrites begin to build up and cause damage to the inhabitants of your tank. Unlike other nitrate testers, the Salifert Nitrite Test Kit is not impacted by the presence of amines. Even the most minute traces of nitrite will be detected with a noticeable color change to the testing kit.
